Book Care & Borrower Responsibilities
We are dedicated to maintaining a high-quality physical collection for academic excellence. Please review our user care guidelines, borrower expectations, and book restoration process.
Pre-Checkout Inspection
Before leaving the circulation desk, please examine your books for torn pages, highlighting, water marks, or binding damage. Report any existing damage immediately to library staff so it can be noted prior to borrowing.
Care & Safe Handling
Users are responsible for keeping books in good condition. Avoid writing in margins, folding page corners (dog-earing), or exposing books to moisture or food. Items returned with new damage are subject to repair fines.
Collection Maintenance
To maintain a vibrant and relevant collection, our library team regularly reviews materials. Worn or outdated books are systematically weeded out, while repairable books are sent for restoration.
Preservation & Repairs Section
Damaged, worn, or flagged books are collected and safely preserved for professional assessment, rebinding, and structural repair before being returned to active circulation.
